Export a Salesforce document as CSV file

Introduction

Salesforce is a powerful CRM platform used by businesses to manage their customer relationships. If you need to export your Salesforce contacts with phone numbers into a CSV file containing only the contact name and phone number columns, this tutorial will show you how.

Step 1: Log in to Salesforce

Visit the Salesforce website (https://www.salesforce.com/) and log in to your account using your email and password.

Step 2: Access your Contacts

After logging in, click on the "Contacts" tab in the main menu at the top of the page to access your contact list.

Step 3: Create a List View for Contacts with Phone Numbers

Click on the gear icon located in the upper right corner of the Contacts page. Select "New List View" to create a new list view for contacts with phone numbers. Name the list view (e.g., "Contacts with Phone Numbers") and click "Save."

Step 4: Filter Contacts with Phone Numbers

In the new list view, click on the "Filter" button located in the upper left corner of the page. Click "Add Filter." In the "Field" drop-down menu, select "Phone." In the "Operator" drop-down menu, select "not equal to." Leave the "Value" field blank to filter contacts with known phone numbers. Click "Done" and then "Apply" to apply the filter.

Step 5: Export Contacts as CSV

With the filtered contacts displayed, click on the "Export" button located in the upper right corner of the page.

Step 6: Customize Export Properties

In the "Export List View" pop-up window, select "Comma Delimited .csv" as the file format. Under "Select which fields to export," deselect all fields except for "Name" and "Phone." This will ensure your exported CSV file only contains the contact name and phone number columns. Click "Export."

Step 7: Download the CSV File

Salesforce will prepare your export file, and once it's ready, you'll receive a notification email. Open the email and click on the "Download Export File" link to download the CSV file to your computer.

Conclusion

You have successfully exported your Salesforce contacts with phone numbers as a CSV file containing only the contact name and phone number columns. You can now use this file to import your contacts into another CRM, analyze the data in a spreadsheet, or share it with your team. Keep your contact data secure and up-to-date, and leverage the powerful features of Salesforce to manage and grow your business.
